UK banks set aside almost £5bn as they wait for their customers to make mis sold PPI claims

PPI Claims - The British Bankers Association (BBA) has today (9th May 2011) said that the banks of the UK will not be challenging the mis sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) court ruling made last week. Bonuses for bankers at Barclays may be cut to reflect and pay for the £1 billion fine the institution has received for mis-selling ppi.

It is thought that on top of the fine, the bank will also have to pay up to £60 million in mis-sold ppi compensation to customers.
